About us

Sine Ira is a Romanian nongovernmental organization established in 2007, one of the main civil society voices. Our goal is to deploy programs and projects to improve the mechanisms to fight organized crime.

We are commited to support the fight against organised crime, crime prevention programs, producing educational material and seminars and consulting with a number of legislative bodies on a variety of different key issues.

Mission:

  • increasing knowledge and awareness on harmfull effects of ignoring organized crime;

  • influencing positive changes in perceptions, expectations, beliefs and intentions;

  • promoting international cooperation with other national and international organisations;

  • improving the national and international legislation as a global frame to fight organized crime;

  • taking action to fight: money laundering and financial means of organised crime, drugs trafficking and consumption, modern day slavery, illegal migration;

  • promoting civic values of democracy and our work is dedicated to enhancing the citizens’ safety.

Values:

        • Integrity

We work for the benefit of the community with respect for the law. Transnational organized crime can permeate government agencies and institutions, fueling corruption, infiltrating business and politics, and hindering economic and social development. And it is undermining governance and democracy by empowering those who operate outside the law. Organized crime threatens peace and human security, violates human rights and undermines economic, social, cultural, political and civil development of societies around the world.

         • Partnership

We work with researchers, activists, consultants, investigative journalists and other national and international NGO’s to achieve our goals.

         • Tenacity

Fighting organized crime. Organized crime is not stagnant, but adapts as new crimes emerge and as relationships between criminal networks become both more flexible, and more sophisticated, with ever-greater reach around the globe.
