Working visit to Romania of a Moldavian delegation

Between 25-27th May, Anti Drug National Agency (ANA) will receive a study visit of a delegation from the Republic of Moldova within the National Observatory of Drugs and Drug Addiction, to develop capacity for monitoring and analysis of indicators on infectious diseases.

The visit is coming in the context of launching cooperation projects between European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction and the countries of Eastern Europe. The objective of the study tour is to provide a picture of the legal framework for the prevention an treatment of drug addiction in Romania, institutional framework and services to reduce demand for drugs and role of care in addictions.

Romania’s Banking System in 2014. Outlook for 2015

The 5th edition of Romania Financial Forum conference will be held on the 5th December in Bucharest and will be attended by the most important representatives of the field.

It will be debated topics related to the romanian economy like: the balance of 2014 and outlooks for 2015, CAS reduced by 5%, inflation, interest rates and reserve requirements, currency fluctuation and the impact of legislative proposals on lending.

Statistics on people infected with HIV-AIDS

According to the European Academy of HIV/AIDS – Institute of Infectious Disseases “Prof. Dr. Matei Bals” worldwide 35,5 million people live with HIV-AIDS while 7000 people are infected daily. Of those, 12200 live in Romania, only in 2013 were infected over 700 new cases.

The estimated increase in the numbe rof cases is due to increasing number of people who administer drugs intravenously. Lack of disposable syringes handling, treatment gaps properly with HIV-AIDS, keep on top of issues of major concern for the Romanian society.

Media Fax Talks About Energy – 12th Edition Bucharest

On the 30th September, there will be organized the 12th edition of “Media Fax Talks About Energy” conference.

There will be many professional speakers from the field, wich whill discuss topics like: news in the draft of Romania’s Energy Strategy, the way that the Romanian Energy System is affected by the Russian decisions, the energy mix, nuclear power, oil and natural gas, gas dissolution basket and financing energy investment,

Communication session organized by Antidrug National Agency

On the 5th August, the Antidrug National Agency organized a communication session to inform the NGO partners on activities/ positions of interests mention that the meeting held in Vienna by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

During the session, there were discussed issues relating to international civil society represented at UNODC Vienna and the possible direction of cooperation.

It was also presented the organisation of the NGO Committee on Drugs in Vienna, realities facing drug conrol system and possible new avenues of action for adaptabillity to current challenges on drug market.

In the same framework there were raised the dynamic aspects of the daily activities undertaken by the NGO’s, to restructure the issue raised and welcoming them with tailored solutions.

Direction of cooperation aimed alternative  development programmes in countries where are cultivated plants – the raw material for illicit drugs, advocacy and projects to prevent drug abuse and crime, the celebration of the International Day of Fight Against Drug Abuse (26th June), public awareness campaigns on victimis of human trafficking, promoting anti-corruption meassures and the right attitude, based on respect for human fights.

Possible courses of action are to improve cooperation between the various UN agencies through mechanisms such as UN Task Force on Drugs, Development and Organised Crime, organising meetings and debates among memebers of scientific society, civil society, UN agencies and representatives of Member States and the creation of a structure to ensure civil society involvement in drug control system, such as Civil Society Task Force.

Media Fax Talks About Energy Conference – 11th Edition, Bucharest

On the 30th May, there will be organized the 11th edition of “Media Fax About Energy” conference.

During the conference will be debated the most pressing issues principles of the new Energy Strategy of Romania and the reason for the request for US support and developing Romania’s present and future prospects regarding the mix energy, nuclear power, oil and gas investments and fee pole.

 

 

Conference on The European Funds – Bucharest

The Ministry of European Funds organized a conference about European Funds, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bucharest.

Alongside EU Funds Minister, representatives of the management sector, bankers and consultants, the conference gathered the most important team debate on European Funds.

It was discussed the overall situation of Romania’s European Funds absorbtion, the directions that the EU indicated for granting more funds and Romania’s priorities in this regard, the internal measures that will be taken by the Ministry of European Funds for the acceleration of the funds, management programmes and the role of the banking system in accessing and using the funds. They also mentioned the biggest problems that the applicants have encountered to date and also solutions to avoid or solve them.

 

Meeting on drug phenomena between the head of the National Anti-drug Agency (ANA) and high-school principals

The meeting’s purpose was that of informing the Bucharest high-school principals ont the latest developments of drug consumption and the impact it has on teenagers.

According to the National Anti-drug strategy 2013-2020, one of the actual problems of Romania’s society is the increasing demand for drugs amongthe general population, especially among pupils.

The spreading of abusive drug consumption amid the young population has led tot he appearance of vast trafficking networks on our soil, thus it is necessary to amplify the educative and informing actions taken and insert them in the curricular and extracurricular activities.

The proposals formulated by the organisers, along with the debate’s conclusions, will be included in a joint action plan for the 2014-2016 period.

Romania Financial Forum – Bucharest

Ont he 27th November 2013, the National Bank of Romania held the Romania Financial Forum.

The conference was split in two panels. The speakers from the first one (Bogdan Olteanu – vice governor of NBA, Henk Paardekooper – CEO RBS Bank, Misu Negritoiu – Chairman ING Bank, Ludwick Sobolewski – General Manager at Bucharest Stock Exchange) disscused about Romania – country risk, rating and they also made an outlook for 2014 for the banks.

In the second panel, they discussed (Adrian Vasilescu – Counsellor of the NBA’s governor, Mircea Ursache – Vice-president of the Financial Supervisory Authority, Eugen Voicu – President of Certinvest) the opportunities for 2014 for fund managers, brokers, insurance and private pensions.

The National Report on the Drug Situation in Romania – 2012

The Romanian National Antidrug Agency released today the National Report on the Drug Situation in Romania in 2012 and the annual report on the drug situation in Europe in 2012, developped by the European Drug and Addiction (EMCDDA) in Lisbon, Portugal.

National Report on the Drug Situation 2012 divided into 12 chapters, covering the latest data and information on drug and answers and measures taken in this field in Romania.

Sine Ira specialist on fighting drugs were present at the event.

The conference will focuse on bringing together in an open dialogue the representatives form the EU and the EaP partner countries in an effort to identify, explore and understand the civil security challenges faced both by the EaP tools of cooperation as fundamental means of Europenization as well as the emerging challenges the parties face in the changing world of the XXI-st century, understanding and taking into account the genuine interest and priorities of the parties concerned and of the individual pressure they are subject to, from the economic crisis to the different political agendas.
