Two alleged ringleaders of a British crime group have been handed decades-long prison terms. Authorities uncovered the conspiracy in May 2022, when investigators seized 408 kilograms of cannabis hidden inside a lathe machine. Other members of the network were given terms ranging from six to 22 years, all after pleading guilty. Had the cocaine plan succeeded, it would have been “incredibly lucrativ,” the National Crime Agency said in a statement. The group shifted to other methods, hiding cocaine in container loads of fruit and vegetables.

Bitcoin continues to consolidate within a defined range, holding above key support zones while attempting to build strength. Momentum remains muted, however, as both buyers and sellers display caution, leaving the market in a waiting phase for fresh order flow. On the daily chart, Bitcoin is holding above the decision point (DP) at $107K–$110K, which provided the base for the recent rebound. From here, the asset is targeting the liquidity zone just below the $124K all-time high, where prior supply is expected to resurface.

The U.S. Treasury Department has sanctioned 19 individuals and companies in Southeast Asia. It accuses them of running scam center operations that use slave labor to bilk Americans out of billions of dollars. Regional experts welcomed the move, but urged local authorities to crack down. They said the U.N. should widen its sanctions to target the full range of actors involved in the scam operations, including Chinese mafia figures and Myanmar militia leaders.
